Last August saw the wedding of my lovely friend and very talented make-up artist Vanessa who married Kevin at Holy Trinity Church in their and my local town of Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire.
With Vanessa’s many friends and business connections in the #Gloswed wedding industry she was able to put on a fabulous festival / fete style wedding at the local school hall. Please see below and I’m sure you’ll agree that a school hall can be utterly transformed into the most marvellous and beautiful reception venue with the help of some of Gloucestershire’s best.
The morning of the wedding was wet – as was a theme for me last year – and I mean very wet. However as so often happened last year, just as it was time for Vanessa to leave for the church the sun came out and her and Kev had the very best of August weather for the remainder of their fabulous day.
Kevin is a Staff Sergeant (Foreman of Signals) in the Royal Signals and as such we had a fair smattering of military uniforms on display and some excellent co-ordination from the MC who kept everything to time and running smoothly.
The fete style wedding reception was nothing short of spectacular in terms of being supper pretty and also super fun for all involved.
It was a wonderful family wedding with many special moments including, but not limited to, speeches from Kev and Ness’s boys, speeches all round, Kev somehow getting a mouthful of confetti, amazing magic, amazing pretty things all round, amazing food and of course an amazing party – one of the very best ever!
I was delighted to be part of this wedding and have provided quite a few photos below to give you a real feel for the day. Enjoy!
I wish Ness and Kev every happiness together – a more lovely couple and a more lovely family you could not find.
I’ll leave the many fabulous suppliers to tag themselves in this blog, however a few special mentions are below.
For me this was a rare opportunity to walk to and from a wedding, and yes I have to admit that come 10pm and as it was a friends wedding, my official camera duties stopped and I joined the party – however camera was still in hand and some rather funny candid dancing shots were captured – I’ll save blushes – including mine but I’m sure Vanessa will show you some of them if you ask nicely.
Special mentions go to:
The families and friends of Ness and Kev, such fun to work with, lovely people all.
Kate Cullen Styling and Design who dressed the hall so beautifully
Neil Ollerton who draped the hall in white and then provided the most killer disco I have ever been to
Stephanie Saunders for the amazing flowers and bouquet
Siobhan Walton for the table names, invites and save the date stationary
The Gloucestershire Magician Richard Parsons
Campervin for the fab mobile bar
Things by Laura for many lovely details including the pin wheels
The wonderful talented cake maker from Kev’s family was Lynda Collis
…and many more I’ve sadly missed but please do add yourself in the comments below.
