Patricia & Chris’s wedding in Devises

Patsy and Chris were married last summer at St. James’ Church Devises in Wiltshire. They followed the wedding with a little stop over for photos at Lockeridge Dene followed by a lovely fete style reception at Kennett Valley Hall.

This was one of a number of weddings from last summer that started off very wet – in fact it was more of a biblical thunderstorm directly overhead just minutes before Patricia arrived at the church prompting many rye comments from guests to the vicar.

However just as the bride arrived it stopped, during the ceremony it dried up and the sun was shining for the recessional which meant we were able to get the family group shots done at the church and some lovely portrait photos by the duck pond.

The weather remained wonderful for the rest of the day and evening for the fab fete style reception with some of the very best food I’ve had the pleasure of sampling.

Wishing Chris, a very keen and talented triathlon athlete, every success for the Iron Man completion in Hawaii later this year.

It was a lovely wedding and I was very pleased to be be able to capture the story of their day, wishing Patricia and Chris every happiness together.

Here is a testimonial I received from the lovely couple following the delivery of their wedding photographs:

Paul was everything we could have hoped for in a photographer to capture our special day. From our first meeting at home where he showed us examples of his work, to our engagement shoot when we mucked about in a field, to the preliminary visits to our reception venue and the church, and finally to the wedding day itself, he worked so hard and fitted in so well. He was polite and unobtrusive yet managed to capture so many moments that show the true story of the day, from getting ready at the hairdressers right up until sunset… He even put up with my niece’s incessant questioning and took some pictures of our much-loved cat!
The photos themselves are beautiful; the colours and background so vivid and crisp; and the shots perfectly composed. At a wedding fair, we were bombarded with information from other photographers who charge a fortune, produce flashy albums full of garish, poorly composed formal set pieces, and only give you very limited options for what you can do with your photos. Paul is the total opposite! We love the fact that we can do what we want with our photos, using them to put together our own albums and make thank you cards.
